Kristy I. Barksdale-Kunz, DVM, Diplomate, ACVR is a Board-certified Veterinary Radiologist. She has been part of the VetRad team since 2023.
Dr. Barksdale-Kunz attended the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science. She then obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at the University of Missouri. Following earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Barksdale-Kunz completed a rotating internship at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital and VCA Berwyn Animal Hospital. She then completed a veterinary radiology residency at VDIC/IDEXX.
Dr. Barksdale-Kunz enjoys all aspects of veterinary radiology and has a special interest in small animal radiography and ultrasonography. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is working closely with professional colleagues and private practitioners to provide exceptional care for patients.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Barksdale-Kunz enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling. She is also fluent in Spanish.
